A well-known fast-casual Italian restaurant chain is preparing to expand its presence in the East Valley with a new location planned for Gilbert. Fazoli’s, a brand recognized for its quick-service Italian-American cuisine, is set to open a new restaurant at 748 North Gilbert Road, just south of Guadalupe Road. While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, the project marks another step in the company’s continued growth across Arizona.

The upcoming Gilbert location will be operated by a Tempe-based hospitality group led by Nava Singam. The group entered into a multi-unit franchise agreement with Fazoli’s in 2023, with plans to bring several new restaurants to the state as part of a broader expansion strategy.

For many local residents, the new restaurant represents a return of a familiar brand. Gilbert previously had a Fazoli’s location in the early 2000s, but it eventually closed. The new development is being seen as a homecoming for the chain, reintroducing its offerings to a community that once had a presence of the brand.

Fazoli’s has been in operation since 1988, when it was founded in Lexington, Kentucky. Since then, the company has grown into a large national chain, with more than 200 locations operating across dozens of states. The brand has also begun expanding internationally, announcing plans to open 25 locations in Canada over the next decade.

The restaurant is known for its focus on providing Italian-style meals quickly while maintaining quality and affordability. Its menu includes a variety of Italian-American dishes such as pasta, pizza, sub sandwiches, and salads. Among its most recognizable features are its unlimited garlic breadsticks, which have become a signature offering.
