The Valley’s dining scene is gearing up for an exciting year in 2026, with a number of new restaurants and food-oriented venues set to open across the Phoenix metropolitan area. Food fans can look forward to a diverse mix of international flavors, innovative concepts, and local favorites expanding into new spaces. Among the most anticipated openings are 10 restaurants and bars that are expected to make a splash in the coming months.
One of the most talked-about new spots is Bar Mar, a seafood-focused restaurant backed by celebrity chef José Andrés. Bar Mar has a menu centered on raw bar offerings, conservas, shareable plates, and larger entrées. While the restaurant’s home inside the VAI Resort in Glendale has faced repeated delays and does not yet have a confirmed opening date, many diners are hoping it will debut in 2026.
Several other notable openings are planned throughout the year. Sword seafood and other coastal flavors will arrive with Cowboy Seafood, adding a fresh take on classic seafood dishes. Din Tai Fung, the world-famous Taiwanese restaurant known for soup dumplings, buns, wontons, and noodles, is scheduled to open its first Arizona location in Scottsdale in April 2026. This 10,000-square-foot restaurant at Scottsdale Fashion Square will feature a dumpling kitchen where guests can watch the handmade process.
Phoenix is also seeing a wave of creative and concept-driven openings. Roman God of Fire, a theatrical Italian restaurant from Pretty Decent Concepts in Tempe, is slated to open in the second quarter of 2026. The menu will include classic Roman and Italian dishes created with showmanship and flair, paired with an on-site cocktail lounge called Forgive Me Father.
Goodyear will welcome the first Arizona location of Buc-ee’s, a Texas-based mega convenience store and travel stop known for its barbecue sandwiches, beef jerky, Beaver Nuggets, and other snacks. The Goodyear Buc-ee’s, opening sometime in the summer, aims to bring its signature experience to local diners and travelers alike.
In Arcadia, a new Southeast Asian-inspired cocktail lounge called Hornbill will debut, featuring shareable small plates drawn from across Asia, including chile crab, noodles and hamachi, along with globally influenced cocktails. The space will be transformed into a “cocktail sanctuary” with a design that evokes tropical and exotic influences.
Mesa’s Mekong Plaza is set to add Udon Shin, a Japanese restaurant famous for its carbonara udon, tempura and house-made noodles. This will be the first U.S. location of the cult-favorite restaurant and is expected to open in early 2026. Also in Tempe, a new concept from the owners of popular Thai street food eatery Glai Baan is planned for the historic Moeur House and Hatton Hall, though details about that concept are still emerging.
Downtown Phoenix will see the arrival of Clare House Social, a restaurant and social space in the East Valley’s Heritage District. Housed in a historic cottage, Clare House Social will feature a large pergola, an outdoor bar, games, and an order window for sandwiches, salads and snacks, giving guests a relaxed place to dine and gather.
These openings reflect a broader trend of growth and innovation in the Valley’s food scene for 2026. From beloved international brands to locally inspired concepts and high-impact newcomers, the lineup promises a range of flavors and experiences that will appeal to a wide variety of diners throughout the year.
