Southern fast‑food favorite Bojangles is officially expanding into Arizona, with its first Valley restaurants now underway in both the East and West Valley.
Developers Kingsbarn Realty Capital and LVP Restaurant Group confirmed that construction began on September 22, 2025, for a new Bojangles near Val Vista Drive and Melrose Street in Gilbert. The company says the Gilbert location is expected to open this summer, marking the chain’s first storefront in the state.
The expansion doesn’t stop there. A second Valley restaurant is planned for Phoenix, at 99th Avenue and Indian School Road, with construction scheduled to begin in early 2026.
Part of a Larger Arizona Rollout
Bojangles announced in 2024 that it had signed a multi‑unit development agreement to bring 20 restaurants to Arizona over the next several years. The company’s website also lists another upcoming East Valley location at 785 S. Val Vista Drive in Gilbert, though no opening date has been released for that site.
Known for its fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits, and signature sweet tea, Bojangles has a strong following across the Southeast. Its arrival in Arizona marks a significant step in the brand’s western expansion.
What’s Next
Developers say the Gilbert restaurant at Val Vista and Melrose is on track for an early Q2 opening, with the Phoenix location following after its Q1 groundbreaking. Additional sites are expected to be announced as the statewide rollout continues.
