A series of nationwide recalls is prompting renewed warnings for consumers to check their refrigerators, freezers, and medicine cabinets. Federal agencies say five products—including cookie dough, ground beef, nasal spray, protein powder, and sausage—may pose health or safety risks if used or consumed.
Cookie Dough Recalled in 15 States
The FDA has announced a recall of Doughy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough due to possible Salmonella contamination. The 12‑ounce packages, marked with a best‑by date of July 4, 2026, were sold in 15 states, including Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, and Texas.
No illnesses have been reported, but Salmonella can be especially dangerous for older adults, young children, and those with weakened immune systems.
Ground Beef Pulled for Possible E. coli
The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service is recalling 2,855 pounds of Forward Farms Grass‑Fed Ground Beef over concerns of E. coli O26 contamination. The 16‑ounce vacuum‑sealed packages carry a use or freeze by date of Jan. 13, 2026 and establishment number EST 2083.
The product was distributed in California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Pennsylvania, and Washington.
Nasal Spray Recalled for Mold and Yeast Contamination.
A nationwide recall has been issued for ReBoost Nasal Spray after microbial contamination—including yeast and mold—was detected. The affected 20‑milliliter bottles list NDC 62795‑4005‑9, UPC 787647101863, lot 224268, and an expiration date of December 2027.
Consumers are urged to stop using the product and request a refund from MediNatura New Mexico, Inc.
Protein Powder Recalled for Undeclared Milk Allergen.
The FDA is warning consumers about mislabeled Genepro Whey 4th Generation Protein Powder, sold in 37 states. Although the packaging claims to be “allergen free,” the product may contain undeclared milk, posing a serious risk to those with dairy allergies.
The recalled bags are 225 grams with UPC 850053365126, lot 250214, and a best‑by date of Feb. 13, 2027.
Kielbasa Recalled for Metal Fragments
Olympia Provisions has recalled its Uncured Holiday Kielbasa after a consumer reported finding metal fragments in the product. The 16‑ounce packages have a best‑by date of Feb. 19, 2026 and establishment number EST. 39928.
The sausage was sold nationwide online and in select stores in California, Oregon, and Washington.
What Consumers Should Do
Officials urge anyone who purchased these products to dispose of them immediately or return them to the place of purchase for a refund. Those experiencing symptoms of foodborne illness—such as diarrhea, vomiting, stomach cramps, or fever—should contact a healthcare provider.
