Arizona’s first Buc-ee’s travel center is getting ready to open this summer, and the company has started a large hiring push to staff the new location ahead of its debut.
The new Buc-ee’s is being built in Goodyear near Interstate 10 and Bullard Avenue, with a grand opening scheduled for June 22. As construction continues, the company has begun recruiting employees to prepare for opening day.
To fill those roles, Buc-ee’s is hosting a multi-day hiring event at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale. The event is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, giving applicants a chance to interview for positions tied to the new store. However, interviews at the event are not open to walk-ins and are instead by invitation only, meaning applicants must apply in advance to be considered.
The company is looking to hire for a wide range of roles, including cashiers, food service workers, grocery staff, gift shop employees, janitorial positions, and maintenance jobs. Pay for these positions ranges from $18 to $23 per hour, and employees will also receive benefits such as three weeks of paid time off.
Buc-ee’s is widely known for its large travel centers and has built a reputation for its unique offerings. The chain is recognized for its beaver mascot, extensive selection of snacks and merchandise, and popular hot food items like brisket and tacos. One of its Tennessee locations even holds the title of the largest gas station in the world, and the brand has earned recognition for having some of the cleanest restrooms in the country.
Inside its stores, customers can find a wide variety of items beyond typical convenience store offerings. These include signature products like Beaver Nuggets, a sweet snack similar to corn-based treats, as well as fudge, frozen drinks, banana pudding, and Texas-style barbecue that is slow-smoked and served fresh.
The company currently operates nearly 50 locations across several states, including Texas, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and South Carolina. The Goodyear location will mark Buc-ee’s first entry into Arizona as it continues expanding into new markets.
As hiring ramps up and the opening date approaches, the new Buc-ee’s is expected to bring a large number of jobs and draw significant attention from both residents and travelers once it officially opens this summer.
