A healthcare facility in East Mesa has significantly expanded its footprint, nearly doubling in size to better serve the growing population in the area. The Banner Health Center, located at 1917 South Crismon Road, recently completed a major expansion project that added more than 19,000 square feet to the building, bringing the total size of the facility to over 40,000 square feet.
The expansion is designed to improve access to care for patients across the East Valley, an area that has seen continued population growth and increased demand for medical services. With the additional space, the center is now equipped to handle a higher volume of patients while also expanding the types of services available.
As part of the upgrade, the facility added 31 new exam rooms along with additional medical suites, nurses’ stations, and administrative offices. These additions are expected to enhance the efficiency of care delivery and allow providers to see more patients throughout the day.
The expansion also includes improvements to behavioral health services, which are now more accessible within the facility. In addition, the on-site laboratory has been expanded, featuring a dedicated waiting area and two new blood draw stations to accommodate increased patient demand.
With the larger space, the care team has also grown. Three new providers have already joined the facility, and there are plans to bring in additional medical professionals in the near future. This increase in staffing is expected to further improve access to both primary care and specialized services.
Officials say the goal of the project is to provide more comprehensive and convenient healthcare options for patients in the community. The expanded facility is intended to support a wide range of services, including routine checkups, immunizations, and the management of both acute and chronic conditions, while maintaining a focus on preventive care.
The project was completed through a collaboration between Banner Health and a real estate investment partner that owns the building following a sale-leaseback agreement completed in 2024. The construction work was carried out by a Phoenix-based general contractor.
Leaders involved in the project emphasized that the expansion was designed to create a modern, efficient healthcare environment that can continue to meet the needs of the community as it grows. The facility’s location in a rapidly developing area makes it a key resource for residents seeking accessible and high-quality medical care.
Patients can schedule appointments at the expanded Banner Health Center in Mesa, which is expected to play an increasingly important role in delivering healthcare services throughout the East Valley.
