The City of Mesa is inviting residents and visitors to attend its annual Celebrate Mesa event, a large community gathering designed to bring people together for a day of free entertainment, activities, and family-friendly experiences. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pioneer Park, located at 526 East Main Street.
Celebrate Mesa is described as a springtime celebration in the park that offers a wide range of activities suitable for all ages. This year’s theme, “Spring Fling,” focuses on creating a lively and engaging environment where attendees can enjoy both recreational and educational opportunities throughout the day.
A major highlight of this year’s event is Literacy Lane, which emphasizes reading and community connection. Visitors will have the chance to participate in readings hosted by special guests, explore free literacy programs and resources, and even sign up for a Mesa Library card on-site.
Several mobile programs and community resources will also be present. The Mesa Public Library’s Read Runner bookmobile will be available, along with Mesa Parks and Recreation’s M.O.R.E. (Mesa Outdoor Recreation Experience) and Fun ‘N Fitness mobile recreation units. These offerings are designed to provide interactive activities and opportunities for learning and play.
The event will also incorporate an Earth Day celebration through the Living Green Village. This area will feature exhibitors sharing information and expertise on topics such as tree planting, composting, recycling, and energy efficiency incentives. In addition, a mobile art engagement lab will offer creative, hands-on art experiences.
Attendees can expect a wide variety of entertainment and attractions throughout the event. Activities include live music, food vendors, a petting zoo, a tot spot for younger children, bounce houses, archery, and free carnival rides. The park’s playground, Water Wall, and splash pad will also be available, along with booths hosted by various city departments providing information and interactive displays.
Celebrate Mesa is made possible through the combined efforts of the City of Mesa, Mesa Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities, and Mesa Recycles, along with support from multiple sponsors and community partners.
City officials say additional details about the event will be shared leading up to the celebration, encouraging the community to stay informed and plan ahead for what is expected to be a well-attended and engaging event.
