Two Arizona lottery players are starting the week with a welcome financial boost after winning big in Saturday night’s Powerball drawing.
According to the Arizona Lottery, both winning tickets were purchased in the Valley, and officials are encouraging residents to double-check their numbers.
One ticket, worth $150,000, was sold at the Fry’s Marketplace near Gilbert and Baseline roads in Gilbert. The prize jumped from the standard $50,000 to $150,000 thanks to the Powerplay option, which multiplies non-jackpot winnings.
The second winning ticket, valued at $50,000, was purchased at the Superpumper convenience store near Pinnacle Peak and Scottsdale roads in Scottsdale.
Saturday’s winning numbers were 5, 19, 21, 28, and 64, with the Powerball number 14.
Lottery officials remind players that prizes of this size must be claimed at an Arizona Lottery office and that winners should sign the back of their tickets immediately to secure ownership.
The Powerball jackpot continues to grow, giving Arizonans another chance at a life-changing win in the next drawing.
