A celebrated husband‑and‑wife Celtic folk duo will bring an evening of traditional music, storytelling, and winter‑season folklore to Glendale.
Four Shillings Short, known for their eclectic blend of Celtic, medieval, Renaissance, Indian, and American folk traditions, will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, at Fiddler’s Dream Coffeehouse in Phoenix.
The duo — Christy Martin and Aodh Óg Ó Tuama — are recognized for their mastery of more than 30 instruments, including hammered and mountain dulcimers, mandolin, bouzouki, tin whistles, recorders, Renaissance woodwinds, sitar, charango, bowed psaltery, banjo, bodhrán, guitar, and even the krumhorn. Their performances weave together music, poetry, and stories from across the Celtic world.
Four Shillings Short has released 13 recordings and tours full‑time, performing at festivals, theaters, libraries, schools, and folk venues across the United States and Ireland. Their Phoenix appearance marks the beginning of their 29th year of touring, which continues into 2026.
